Job Posting: Director of Development and Communications

About the Role
The Director of Development and Communications is a key leadership position responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising and communications strategy in partnership with the Executive Director. This full-time exempt role oversees a talented Development Team—including a Grants Writer, Development & Community Engagement Coordinator, and Development & Communications Coordinator—and plays a central role in donor cultivation, community partnerships, and organizational storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising & Donor Engagement: Lead individual donor strategy, appeals, acknowledgments, and online giving platforms. Partner with the Executive Director and Board on major gifts and stewardship.
  • Team Leadership & Volunteer Coordination: Supervise and mentor the Development Team. Oversee volunteer engagement through the Community Engagement Coordinator.
  • Community & Institutional Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with congregations, schools, businesses, and community groups. Represent Arm In Arm at events and public engagements.
  • Grants & Institutional Giving: Oversee grant writing and reporting. Identify new funding opportunities and collaborate with staff on proposals.
  • Communications & Marketing: Manage digital and print communications, including newsletters, social media, website, and media relations.
  • Data & Strategy: Direct fundraising campaigns, manage the donor database (DonorPerfect), and track performance metrics.
Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in grant writing, donor relations, and fundraising strategy.
  • Experience managing staff and volunteers.
  • Proficiency with fundraising platforms (e.g., DonorPerfect, Constant Contact, social media).
  • Experience with events
  • Skilled in time management, multitasking, and working independently.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related subject.
  • 5-7+ years’ experience in development activities including grant writing, public and private institutional fundraising, individual donor development, and special events
  • Significant experience in public relations and communication, including donor relations and production of all print materials such as annual report, major appeals, and social media.
  • Satisfactory background check.

Job Posting: Hunger Prevention Coordinator

 ABOUT THE POSITION

Arm In Arm is seeking an experienced professional for the full-time, non-exempt position of Hunger Prevention Coordinator.  This position supports the daily operations of Arm In Arm’s food pantries and works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and clients to ensure efficient and hospitable service delivery. The role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to serving the community with compassion and professionalism.

  • Support pantry operations as needed, including: program reporting, client intake and greeting, shopping assistance, bagging/checkout, stocking, and unloading food deliveries.
  • Supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to volunteers to ensure smooth pantry operations, in coordination with the Director of Hunger Prevention
  • Manage and regularly update the volunteer management platform, ensuring accurate scheduling, communication, and tracking of volunteer hours.
  • Coordinate with community partners and specialized volunteers, as needed, to integrate complementary services that support and enhance the well-being of pantry clients.
  • Collaborate internally to ensure pantry updates, events, and initiatives are communicated to the appropriate teams for timely sharing through agency communication channels.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients is a plus.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience strongly preferred.
  • Satisfactory background check.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be on-site at least 90% of the time.
  • Flexibility to work occasionally late afternoons or weekends as needed.
