What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
No doubt it continues to be a challenging year for us all and we may have to look deep within ourselves to find the joy and gratitude that exists within the simple things– family, home, and a meal on our table.
These simple things do not come easily for many in our community, but thanks to your support of Arm In Arm, we have been working to ensure our neighbors are provided for this Thanksgiving. In fact, over the last week we have provided food for more than 1,750 households throughout Mercer County, including 500 turkeys (or gift cards so families may purchase one). Our staff and volunteers have served neighbors in our pantries, as well as at various Grab ‘n Go events throughout the area, ensuring we reach as many families as possible. They have been met with so many expressions of gratitude: smiles behind masks; tears; and the bestowing of many blessings. Thank you for helping to make this happen.
Arm In Arm is a kaleidoscope of individuals working together to help our community thrive, and that has never been more apparent than this year in which the challenges to provide have been, and continue to be, many. So this year I am grateful for all of you:
· Our incredible staff who have worked tirelessly, putting the needs of our neighbors above their own, to ensure families in our community have food on their tables and a roof overhead;
· Our supporters who have provided food and resources in extraordinary ways to help meet these incredible needs;
· Our volunteers who have come over and over again to pack bags and hand out food, fully masked and shielded;
· And our clients, for it is their gratitude, resilience and strength in the face of many challenges, that propel us to do more. We are truly blessed to serve you.
I am thankful for all of you who help others in need.
