Dear Friends of Arm In Arm,
I am honored and humbled to have been appointed Arm In Arm’s next Executive Director. Over the past five years, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most compassionate, dedicated people I’ve ever known. I have seen firsthand the strength of this community—how we show up for one another, how we listen, how we act. For 45 years, Arm In Arm has been a place where dignity meets need, where hope is offered freely, and where no one stands alone. That’s because of you.
I’m especially thankful for our incredible staff and leadership team, whose commitment and care make this work possible every day. I’m also grateful to our Board of Directors, whose vision and steadfast support have helped us navigate both challenges and growth. Their efforts, alongside yours, ensure that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our neighbors with dignity, kindness and respect.
This work is deeply personal to me. I came to it as a second career, nudged by a friend who saw something in me and gave me an opportunity to serve in a meaningful way. Since then, it has given me more than I could have imagined. I’m continually inspired by the people around me—my family, my colleagues, those who give so generously to our community, and the neighbors we are privileged to serve—who push me to learn, to grow, to do more, and to lead in a way that empowers others.
As we look ahead, we know that uncertainty remains. Policy changes may deeply affect the lives of many we serve, increasing the challenges they already face. These realities only strengthen our resolve to be a compassionate presence in their lives. No matter what lies ahead, we are committed to ensuring families in our community have access to food, housing, and the support they need to thrive. We know we cannot do it alone though. It will take all of us, united in purpose, to continue offering stability, opportunity and hope. In the months ahead, I may call on you—our community of volunteers, supporters, partners, and friends—for your ideas, your time, and your continued generosity. Together, I believe we can meet whatever challenges come our way.
